What are you teaching in fall 2023?
I am teaching Public Interest Communications this fall.
What is your area of expertise?
My area of research is centered within the prosocial branch of public relations, thus I consider myself to be a public interest communicator. I specialize in research pertaining to nonprofit communications, corporate social responsibility and advocacy, and ethics in public relations. Most of my research is based primarily in digital spaces.
What research are you working on?
Currently I am working on refining my dissertation for publication, as well as two manuscripts that consider the commodification of protest and representations of mental health in advertising.
Significant other, children, pets?
Yes, I am married and we have one fat cat, Ruby.
What excites you most about coming to Gainesville?
I am looking forward to living somewhere completely different from Pennsylvania and NYC! I am excited to spend time exploring the beach towns and all of the new nature settings, especially the springs.
What accomplishments, personal or professional, are you most proud of?
I am very proud of my transition from professional to Ph.D.
What three things don’t we know about you?
- I made it my goal to visit all 50 states before my 30th birthday and succeeded!
- I love to sing and will likely find a local choir to join.
- I’m a plant collector, but am terrible at keeping them alive.
