Careers and Corporate Partnerships

For Employers

Why recruit with the CJC? Our students are prepared, ready to bring fresh, new ideas, and can hit the ground running. Our award-winning students gain real-world experience in the most extensive immersion program in the country. Students develop multimedia skills in a working newsroom, a strategic communication firm with regional and national clients, and on seven digital and broadcast properties.

Careers in Communication Fair

The Careers in Communication Fair will be held March 24, 2021.  Details regarding registration and location will be posted soon!

Employers can engage with CJC students one on one for job and internship placement. The Careers in Communication Fair is held in the fall and spring semesters of the academic year. Due to COVID-19 and for the safety of our students and employers, the fair will be held virtually until further notice. Visit the career fair website for dates, times and registration information.

CJC Virtual Career Day

The College of Journalism and Communications is fully aware of the recruitment challenges many employers face due to COVID-19.  We are here to support you during these unprecedented times by offering convenient recruitment options, continuing to give your company full access to the immense talent housed in the CJC.

Our new CJC Virtual Career Day system, allows you as a recruiter to schedule your own personal job fair at your convenience.  Register your company via the portal, input the job or internship opportunity you would like potential candidates to apply and set your start and ending interview date.  You can specify your criteria by selecting the class and major desired from a potential candidate.  Once your employer profile is submitted and you’ve selected the dates of your “virtual visit”, the CJC Office of Careers and Corporate Partnerships will advertise your recruitment opportunity to all CJC students at no cost to you.  The entire process is free to recruiters.

Students will create profiles with their availability and submit their resume with additional bodies of work (packets) to the system for you to review and download.  Once you schedule an interview with a student, you will need to create a Zoom link invitation for your interviews.  We encourage employers to use the Zoom platform since all CJC students are equipped with a UF Zoom account.

Job/Internship Postings

Employers may register for a free account to post openings directly, or they may submit them through the Office of Careers and Corporate Partnerships. Visit the Employer Dashboard to register or submit a posting.

Is your company looking to hire an intern? Need assistance with your internship posting? We’ve created several internship description templates you may use to showcase your company’s opportunities. Use the template as a guideline to recruit students with the skills and experience best suited for the position.

Virtual and On-Campus visits

Our students are flexible and can adapt to any format. To schedule a virtual or on-campus recruiting opportunity, email Alexandria Wilkerson at pwilkerson@jou.ufl.edu.
