Cheryl Oberlin, assistant director of University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC) online graduate program, will serve on the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA) Board of Directors starting in July 2024. This prestigious role underscores Oberlin’s extensive dedication and contribution to online education, a field in which she has been a pivotal figure for over two decades.

The USDLA, founded in 1987, is the premier professional membership organization designed to advocate for and support the needs of distance education leaders across various sectors, including education, business, health and government. It serves as a vital resource for professionals in distance education, offering advocacy, research, and disseminating best practices nationally and internationally.

In her new role, Oberlin will serve on the board’s Sponsorship and Partners Committee and its Professional Development Committee. Her involvement will focus on shaping future distance learning practices and fostering professional growth among educators nationwide.
