  • Funding available: Total Funding Amount: US$ 260,000.00 – Amount of award and number of awards will depend on availability of funds.
  • Period of performance: 12 months
  • Program background: The Public Affairs Sections of the U.S. Embassy and Consulates in Brazil invites proposals for programs that strengthen ties between the United States and Brazil through cultural, arts, educational, media, information, and exchange programming that highlights shared values and promotes bilateral cooperation. The bilateral nature of proposals is especially important during calendar year 2024, the 200th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Brazil and the United States. All programs must include an American cultural element, or connection with American expert(s), organization(s), or institutions in a specific field that will promote increased understanding of U.S. policies, values, and perspectives as well as incorporate a cross-cutting approach to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA).

        • Expand Brazilians’ Access to Fact-Based Reporting to Counter Misinformation
        • Sports Diplomacy and Youth Engagement
        • Combating the Climate Crisis
        • Strengthening Democracy, Human Rights, and Empowered Citizenship

 

Second Opportunity

  • Funding Opportunity Title: U.S. Embassy Tokyo PAS Annual Program Statement
  • Key words: Japan., climate, disinformation
  • Agency Deadline: 09/30/2024
  • Funding available: minimum of $10,000 to maximum of $1000,000 for each award
  • Period of performance: up to 12 months
  • Program background: PAS Tokyo invites proposals for programs that strengthen cultural ties between the U.S. and Japan through cultural and exchange programming that highlights shared values and promotes bilateral cooperation. All programs must include an American cultural element, or connection with American expert/s, organization/s, or institution/s in a specific field that will promote increased understanding of U.S. policy and perspectives.
  • Program Objectives:
        • Programs that foster greater bilateral trade and investment between the U.S. and Japan, including securing supply chains, enhancing women’s participation in the Japanese economy, fighting climate change, and promoting sustainable infrastructure investment in the Indo-Pacific region.
        • Programs that use U.S.-Japan cooperation to increase transparency and good governance, strengthen democratic processes, counter state-sponsored disinformation, and promote the respect for the rule of law and human rights in the Indo-Pacific region.

  • Funding available: Awards may range from a minimum of $5,000 to a maximum of $20,000.
  • Period of performance: 1-12 months
  • Program background: PDS invites proposals for programs that strengthen cultural ties between the U.S. and the Central African Republic through cultural and exchange programming that highlights shared values and promotes bilateral cooperation. All programs must include a U.S. cultural element, or connection with U.S. expert/s, organization/s, or institution/s in a specific field that will promote increased understanding of U.S. policy and perspectives.
  • Program Objectives:
        • Strengthening people-to-people ties that reinforce democratic values and institutions by explaining U.S. policies, culture, and values to Central African audiences;
        • Increase the capacity of journalists to combat and expose disinformation;
        • Enhance the Central African public’s media literacy

  • Program background: The U.S. Mission Türkiye invites proposals for projects that strengthen ties between the United States and Türkiye through cultural and educational programming that highlights shared values and promotes bilateral cooperation. All proposals must include a U.S. cultural element, or connection with American expert/s, organization/s, or institution/s in a specific field that will promote increased understanding of U.S. policy and perspectives.
  • Program objectives:
        • Democratic Values: reinforce respect for international human rights norms within Türkiye, and for democracy, counter gender-based violence, promote the rule of law, freedom of expression, protecting underrepresented groups’ rights including those of gender non-conforming individuals, gender equality, and strengthening press freedoms, increasing the capacity of the Turkish media and civil society.
        • Turkish and U.S. Ties Through Education: support English language programs, raise awareness of media misinformation and disinformation, increase understanding of the U.S. political system, government and education system, and augment science, technology, research, engineering, art, and mathematics (STREAM) teacher and student trainings by expanding ties between Turkish and U.S. organizations and individuals.
