CJC Alum Named New University of Maryland Vice President for University Relations

Matthew Hodge, B.S. Advertising 1994, has been named the University of Maryland (UMD) Vice President for University Relations effective July 1. Hodge has served in several development roles since joining UF in 2010 and currently is the UF Associate Vice President of Development & Chief Development Officer.

In his new role, Hodge will build on UMD’s fundraising and alumni engagement programs to strengthen and transform its philanthropic enterprise. He will be charged with forging partnerships across campus units and working with industry, community leaders and donors to leverage philanthropic engagement opportunities. Hodge will also serve as president of the UMD College Park Foundation.

While at UF, Hodge led UF’s development teams of more than 200 members, including 16 colleges over 10 units, and the central fundraising programs, which included corporate and foundations, gift planning, principal gifts and university initiatives. He also played a key leadership role in the development and execution of UF’s $3 billion Go Greater fundraising campaign.
