The National Freedom of Information Coalition (NFOIC) will be relocating its headquarters to the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC) by summer 2018. University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications Health Communication doctoral student Rachel Damiani received top honors at the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) 2018 Student Poster Competition in the Science and Society category for “Relating to Researchers: How Citizen Scientists Invest in Learning the Language of Science”. Damiani received the award at the AAAS Annual Meeting in Austin, Texas in February.

In recognition of his international documentary film work, Tim Sorel, University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (CJC) Telecommunication associate professor, was selected as the 2017-18 CJC International Educator of the Year. The award acknowledges outstanding contributions by faculty and staff to the internationalization of the College and the University.

Washington Post reporter John Woodrow Cox, B.S. Journalism 2008, M.S. Business Administration 2010, and CJC Outstanding Young Alumnus for 2017-18, is the recipient of the 2018 Scripps Howard Human Interest Storytelling – Ernie Pyle Award.
