Three UFCJC faculty and staff receive 2026 Division Three Superior Accomplishment Awards

University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications Advertising faculty Jaiwei Liu and Yang Feng and Atlas Lab Director Nathan Carpenter are the recipients of 2026 Division Three UF Superior Accomplishment Awards.

The prestigious award program recognizes outstanding faculty and staff for their dedication to their jobs and for going above and beyond to advance the mission of the university and provide service to the community.

Liu is an assistant professor and an affiliate faculty in the STEM Translational Communication Center, UF Health Cancer Institute and the UF AI2 Center. His research focuses on health communication and disease prevention. He joined the College in 2024.

Feng, an associate professor in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and an award-winning scholar, studies how AI transforms advertising by reallocating agency across the persuasion pipeline. She also focuses on augmented reality and privacy issues. Feng joined the College in 2022.

Carpenter joined UFCJC in 2023 as the inaugural director of the Atlas Lab. He oversees lab operations and provides thought leadership around social media listening data collection and strategy to academic and professional communities.

The awards will be presented at a ceremony on Feb. 26 at UF Emerson Alumni Hall and each person will receive a monetary award of $300 and a framed certificate in appreciation of superior service to UF. Awardees will now be considered for university-level honors that will be presented on April 13.
