CJC Faculty, Graduate Students and Alumna Receive 2021 AEJMC Research Paper Awards

Amy Jo Coffey, University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC) Media Production, Management, and Technology associate professor, is the recipient of the third place faculty paper award in the 2021 Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) for “Video Measurement and Analytics: Best Practices and Industry Challenges” in the Media Management, Economics and Entrepreneurship Division.

The top paper in the AEJMC Open Papers Competition, “Communicating the Big Picture with Employees: The Impact of CEO Vision Communication on Employee Engagement,” was co-authored by doctoral students Yufan “Sunny” Qin, Alexis Fitzsimmons, Eve Heffron and Public Relations Associate Professor and Department Chair Marcia DiStaso.

In addition, Morgan Band, B.S. Telecommunication 2021, has received the top student paper in the AEJMC Law and Policy Division for “A Meta-Analytic Review of the Effects of Pretrial Publicity on Jury Perception.”

The papers will be presented at the virtual 2021 AEJMC conference from Aug. 4-7.
