Quick Facts

  • Earned her bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication and her master’s degree in mass communication from CJC
  • Built a 25-year career in media production, advertising, producing, project management and higher education

What classes will you be teaching?

I’ll be teaching RTV 4800 – Media Management and Strategy, RTV 3518 – Branded Content Strategy and Planning, and RTV4930 – Gotham Week Expo in the Fall.

What is your area of expertise?

Branded Content and Media Management – I have worked in a wide variety of areas across multiple industries, so I have experience that spans across production, advertising, and media operations.

Significant other, children, pets?

My dog, Maddie is my fur-baby and she is spoiled – as she should be.

What accomplishments, personal or professional, are you most proud of?

I’ve had a lot of professional highs, but honestly the moments in my career that I’m most proud of are when I see the people I’ve mentored or taught succeed. Nothing means more to me than hearing that a student really loved a class or was able to utilize something they have learned in their career. Seeing people that I mentored in the industry moving into leadership roles is so gratifying!

What do you enjoy doing outside of work? Any hobbies?

I love traveling and exploring new places. I also enjoy doing DIY projects around the house when I have the time.

What is your favorite piece of media (book, movie, show, game)?

In the Mood for Love is one of my favorite cinematic pieces, but I also have about 150 other favorite movies. Dark Waters changed my life and was the inspiration for my master’s thesis project.

What advice would you give to a student just getting started in your area of expertise?

I generally tell my students that skill and talent may get you a job, but your success is most dependent on your work ethic and your personality. Knowing your strengths and what you can offer an employer are really important, as your first job is generally going to include taking things off of someone else’s plate. Being dependable and willing to learn without ego are huge green flags for employers.
