July 15, 2025

Mickey Nall, University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC) Public Relations professional in residence and senior lecturer, and Kathy Barbour, B.S. Public Relations 1998 and UFCJC PR Department Advisory Board member, are presenting a session at the 2025 Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Sunshine District Conference on July 18 in Jacksonville, Florida.

Nall and Barbour will lead “Guardians of the Truth: Why Credentialed Communicators Lead the Way.” Their candid, “fireside” chat will focus on the value of earning Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) and how joining the PRSA College of Fellows is not just a career milestone, but a meaningful commitment to ethical, strategic communication. Nall and Barbour are both APRs and PRSA Fellows.

The theme of the conference, “Bridging Connections: Connecting PR to the Outside World,” highlights the power of networking and the importance of relationship-building. The sessions bring client stories to those outside the PR scope, along with the evolving platforms shaping the profession.
