UFCJC’s Grandstand Magazine launches free weekly newsletter
Grandstand Magazine, the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications’ (UFCJC) new student-run sports publication, has launched a free weekly newsletter. Subscribers will receive each new Grandstand feature the moment it’s published.

The launch marks the next big step in Grandstand’s efforts to elevate UF student sports journalists and broaden the publication’s audience. The newsletter will spotlight Grandstand’s feature storytelling – helping students, alumni, Gators fans and supporters of student journalism follow the staff’s coverage more easily.
“Our Grandstand students are doing incredible work,” Grandstand faculty adviser and Journalism Sports Lecturer Ryan Hunt said. “We want more people to see the reporting, creativity and effort our staff is putting into every single story.”
The Grandstand team is also developing a monthly newsletter that will expand beyond the weekly written features. Future editions will highlight Grandstand’s social media projects, original photography, video storytelling and other work that shapes the publication’s identity.
Since Grandstand’s launch last fall, its stories have already been recognized for state, regional and national sports journalism awards, including a third-place finish in last year’s Hearst national sports storytelling competition.
