Natalie Asorey and Alecia Monteiro Receive 2025 UF Center for Teaching Excellence Awards
Natalie Asorey, University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC) Public Relations senior lecturer and associate director of Student Engagement for The Agency, and Alecia Monteiro, UFCJC Online Instructional Designer III, are the recipients of 2025 UF Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) Awards.

Asorey received an Exemplary Online Teaching Award for Student Engagement, which recognizes exemplary and innovativepractices in online teaching and course production. Since 2018, she has served as a mentor and advisor for students across the College. In 2021-22, she was named both the UF and UFCJC Undergraduate Faculty Advisor/Mentor of the Year.

Monteiro received a Trailblazer Award in the Going the Extra Mile category. She was honored for expanding the boundaries of her role to create learning environments that are not just functional but transformative, leaving a lasting impact on the learning journey of students and the broader educational community. With over 15 years of experience in educational technology, curriculum development, project management and collaboration with faculty she is instrumental in designing courses that meet or exceed Quality Matters standards.
The CTE awards celebrate and support the diverse spectrum of teaching excellence across the UF campus. A team of volunteer judges, including previous award winners, faculty from various colleges and departments, and online teaching support staff, select the annual winners.
