Jacob Sedesse is an award-winning multimedia content producer, on-air personality, and futurist.

Born and raised in Gainesville, Florida, Sedesse graduated from the University of Florida’s College of Journalism and Communications in 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications. His academic focus included Digital Film and Television Production, alongside a minor in Digital Arts & Sciences and a specialized certificate in Artificial Intelligence Applications.

He spent much of his time in college working at NPR and PBS affiliate WUFT News. His coverage of such stories as NASA’s Artemis I mission played in NPR’s national broadcasts.

Sedesse earned statewide recognition as Florida’s top collegiate radio broadcaster. The Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists honored him with the awards for Best Radio News Anchor and Best Radio Newscast honoring his leadership on Morning Edition and The Point, respectively — the latter of which he also executive produced. He’s known by colleagues for his passion for bending the rules of storytelling, pushing technology to its limits and finding ways to including technology in his stories when he can.

Sedesse is a member of Snap Inc.’s Safety Advisory Board where he advises the company on policy decisions to help make the platform safe and secure, especially for young people. His longstanding dedication to these issues began in high school as a member of Microsoft’s Council for Digital Good, working to address similar issues by sharing his experiences and insights to Microsoft company officials, non-profit leaders, and even First Lady Melania Trump as part of her Be Best initiative.

He spends his free time listening to, critiquing and experimenting with music; playing video games; posting shocking messages to his audience on X; and dreaming of the world of tomorrow.

Sedesse is currently working towards a Master of Arts in Mass Communication (M.A.M.C.) Professional Master’s degree.
