NBA in Paris

Twenty-four CJC students, Media Production, Management, and Technology Interim Chair Roxane Coche and Journalism Department Chair Ted Spiker traveled to Paris in January 2023 to create media content for the second-ever NBA game played in France.

You can read their personal stories about the trip here.

About the Program

The NBA is hosting a regular season game in the French capital for the first time since the pandemic and the second time in history! We will travel there to provide media coverage of the event. The coverage will focus mostly on social/cultural aspects.

This one-credit-hour program, open to any UF student, mirrors the professional experiences of journalists: you will have only a couple of days to understand some of the dynamics in the host culture before writing about it. Students will be responsible for reporting on fan experiences, basketball culture in France, the difference between French league and NBA rules, and activities surrounding the event.
