Visiting Scholar Policy
Hosting visiting scholars enriches CJC’s community by introducing varied worldviews and expertise, which align with our commitment to fostering a dynamic learning environment. By engaging with visiting scholars, our students and faculty gain invaluable opportunities for collaboration, cultural exchange, and professional growth. These scholars bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas, enhancing the intellectual vibrancy of our College.
The purpose of CJC’s Visiting Scholar Policy is to create a structured and supportive environment for visiting scholars, ensuring they have the resources and opportunities needed to thrive academically and culturally during their stay. By providing dedicated office space, assistance with lodging, and access to academic and social events, we aim to integrate visiting scholars into our College community seamlessly. Please note, that a scholar qualifies as a ‘Visiting Scholar’ if their stay is longer than thirty (30) days.
Note: This document is continuously updated. We welcome the submission of additional valuable resources and encourage you to check back regularly for the latest information.
Recruitment and Stewardship
Effective recruitment and stewardship of visiting scholars are essential for attracting top talent and fostering long-term relationships. By actively recruiting distinguished scholars, we enhance our academic community with diverse expertise and innovative ideas.
Additionally, we aim to build lasting relationships with our visiting scholars. These collaborations should extend beyond their visit, ensuring that the connections and partnerships we build continue to thrive and evolve over time. Stewardship ensures ongoing engagement and collaboration, benefiting both the scholars and our institution through sustained partnerships and continued knowledge exchange.
