Anthony brings a mix of commercial and student newsroom experience, digital strategy skills and a commitment to mentorship to the Innovation News Center.
Most recently, he has worked at WVUA 23 News in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where he produced and anchored newscasts while mentoring undergraduate journalists in reporting, scripting and story development. He also brings digital experience from his time at 13WMAZ in Macon, Georgia. His work there included broadcast and digital coverage of breaking news, elections, severe weather, courts and local government, as well as live-streaming major events. The research for his master’s degree in Journalism and Media Studies at the University of Alabama examined how digital communities help fill local news gaps.
He will oversee digital publishing for WUFT.org and collaborate on the growth of the college’s new streaming video app, UF+.
