Anthony Montalto named UFCJC Innovation News Center Multimedia Content Producer
Anthony Montalto, B.S. Journalism 2021, joins the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC) Innovation News Center (INC) as a multimedia content producer on May 18. He brings a mix of commercial and student newsroom experience, digital strategy skills and a commitment to mentorship.
Montalto comes to UFCJC from WVUA 23 News in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where he produced and anchored newscasts while mentoring undergraduate journalists in reporting, scripting and story development. Previously, he worked at 13WMAZ in Macon, Georgia where he honed his skills in broadcast and digital coverage of breaking news, elections, severe weather, courts and local government, as well as live-streaming of major events. He is currently completing a master’s degree in journalism and media studies at the University of Alabama, with research examining how digital communities help fill local news gaps.
In the INC, Montalto will oversee digital publishing for WUFT.org and collaborate on the growth of the college’s new streaming video app, UF+.
