WUFT News Honored in National 2025 PMJA National Awards Competition

Staff members from the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications Innovation News Center and a recent graduate have been recognized with six 2025 Public Media Journalists Association (PMJA) Awards. The awards recognize the best public media journalism work in 2024 from across the U.S.

PMJA, formerly known as Public Radio News Directors Inc., represents those responsible for the day-to-day reporting, editing and direction of local public media newsrooms.

In 2025, the association presented 266 first- and second-place awards to 113 organizations in five divisions, representing public media organizations with as few as one to more than 30 newsroom employees. The entries were judged by more than 70 public media professionals.

Winners were announced at the 2025 PMJA Cultivating Innovation Conference, held June 25-27 in Kansas City.
