Bio

Sunny Xu earned her master’s degree in Media Effects from Penn State. Her thesis is about how watching game streaming helps people combat mental stress. Her research is situated within the fields of media effects and two-way interaction between media and humans. Specifically, she is passionate about media psychology, especially mental healing and well-being; interactive media, including video games, and online dating apps; and media effects, especially persuasion via emotion-induced messages.
