Research
Luna’s primary research goal is to explore how communication, across various formats and platforms, can help mitigate the impact of adverse events. Her work focuses on the factors that shape public perceptions of emergencies and the behaviors that follow. While much of her research has centered on natural and human-made disasters, she is also broadly interested in communication during general emergencies and social crises, and science communication. Methodologically, Luna is a quantitative researcher, with a preference for online surveys, experiments, and computational analyses such as network analyses and bibliometrics analyses.
