Julia Seay

Human Resources Manager - Office of the Dean

Julia Seay is the Human Resources Manager for the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (CJC), where she has served for over six years. In her role, she leads key HR functions including employee onboarding, payroll, immigration, FMLA, and tenure and promotion. She has spearheaded several projects to enhance the college’s HR operations, including modernizing processing logistics and launching a professional development cohort program for staff.

Prior to joining CJC, Seay worked in the UF Department of Housing and Residence Education, where she managed HR initiatives related to the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), worker’s compensation, and payroll. She specializes in workforce data analysis and employment records management.

Seay holds a B.S. in Event Management from the University of Central Florida and is a Senior Certified Professional (SCP) through the Society for Human Resource Management. She currently serves as an at-large member and is a past-president of the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR) Florida chapter.
