UFCJC Student Journalists Honored in 2024 SPJ National Mark of Excellence Awards Competition
University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications student journalists received national recognition in the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) 2024 National Mark of Excellence (MOE) Awards competition. The competition honors the best collegiate work published or broadcast during the year.
The winners are:
- News Videography: “Horseshoe Beach Recovery,” Alexander Land, WUFT-TV
- Retail/Small Business Journalism: “Your Stain, His Gain,” Brooke Davidson, Atrium Magazine
This year’s winners include 73 students and staffs from 38 universities across the U.S. National winners will advance to compete for the MOEy Best in Show, SPJ’s top prize.
The MOEy winner, along with recipients of two Corbin Gwaltney Awards for Best All-Around Student Newspaper, will be announced during the Sigma Delta Chi awards ceremony later this summer. This virtual event will be streamed on the SPJ YouTube channel.
