Fall 2024 Europe Study Abroad – Work as a Paid Intern at the Paris 2024 Paralympics!

NEW DEADLINE to Spend Fall 2024 in Europe!

 

NBC Sports will take up to 10 students from the CJC’s Fall 2024 abroad as paid interns to work at the Paris 2024 Paralympics!Considering this news, the deadline to apply for the program is postponed to Thursday, April 18.

 

Open to any undergraduate or master’s student, this unique, three-month study abroad program includes 12 UF credit hours. Here’s what’s great about it:

  • No credit transfer necessary!
  • Gain professional experience at one of the biggest sports mega-events in the world!
  • Have a chance to complete two international internships in three months!
  • Spend three months abroad in three European countries!
  • Be home for Thanksgiving!

The program is divided into three phases:

  • Phase 1, Aug. 19 to Sept. 10: Cover and/or create media content related to the Paralympic Games in Paris. RTV4930 Covering the Paralympics taught by Dr. Roxane Coche who used to work in sports television in Paris.
  • Phase 2, Sept. 11 to Oct. 10: Students will take two courses (6 credits) at Estudios Universitarios y Superiores De Andalucía in Sevilla, Spain. This portion of the program will culminate in a four-day excursion to Madrid.
    • MMC4302 World Communication Systems
    • RTV4959C Sports Capstone (a professional development class)
  • Phase 3, from Oct. 11 to Nov. 23: Students will complete an internship in Dublin, Ireland (RTV4940 Media Internship). Internships will be personalized to match each student’s interests as much as possible.

 

Classes for this unique program end at Thanksgiving. An internship report and a multimedia reflection post about your experience will be due in December.
