John Freeman, University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC) Journalism associate professor, has received second place in the 2022 Center for European Studies Europe Through Photography Contest.

Freeman’s winning photo features a Berlin, Germany alleyway located outside a popular late-night spot called Cafe’ Cinema. The photo was shot with an iPhone 8 during the annual UFCJC study abroad trip to Berlin coordinated by Freeman in May 2022.

The annual contest was open to UF faculty, staff and students and submissions were accepted in two categories: email and Instagram. The photos had to be images of Europe and taken between May 2 and Aug. 19, 2022.
