Chan-Olmsted, CJC Courtesy Professor Lisa-Charlotte Wolter and CJC Research Consultant Rhiannon Eilertson were honored for “Sustainability and Brand Communication: Consumer Segment and Media Platform Implications.” In the paper, they examined sustainability in media and communications from a comprehensive, ecological-economic-social perspective.

According to the authors, “the study investigates how consumers perceive the importance of sustainability by topical areas in the context of brand communication; if there are distinct consumer segments based on brand related sustainability behavior and communication preferences; and how different media platforms are differentiated as channels of sustainability messaging.”

The research was a pilot study for an industry-academic project that will be administered by the International University of Applied Sciences in Germany.

The award was presented at the annual EMMA Conference from Oct. 27-29 at Jönköping International Business School at Jönköping University in Sweden.
