University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications master’s student Alyssa Varas is the recipient of the 2020 PRSA Foundation Chester Burger Scholarship for Excellence in Public Relations. Varas is pursuing an online master’s with a specialization in Global Strategic Communications.

This scholarship was created to encourage graduate public relations students to pursue careers in corporate public relations, with the goal of making the public relations function more essential to the successful achievement of corporate goals consistent with the public interest, the precepts of sound business and the needs of key stakeholders.

All scholarship recipients will be recognized during the virtual PRSSA Awards Ceremony during PRSA ICON 2020 in October.
