Fall 2026 Careers in Communications Week

Our annual Fall Career Fair has expanded into a week-long series of networking, professional development, and industry engagement opportunities designed to maximize connections between employers and students.

Monday, October 12

1–2 p.m. – Professional Networking Workshop

Location: Weimer Hall, Atlas Lab

This presentation, led by Ashley Baldwin of the Walt Disney College Program, explains what networking is, how to go about seeking out opportunities, and why this applies to any type of career atmosphere.

5:30–7 p.m. – Networking Yappy Hour

Location: Weimer Hall

Meet and connect with professionals from communications, advertising, journalism, media, public relations, marketing, and related industries while enjoying creative mocktails, great conversation, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Tuesday, October 13

10 a.m.–2 p.m. – Fall 2026 Careers in Communication Fair

Location: Reitz Union, Rion Ballroom

Students and alumni interested in internships and job opportunities related to advertising, journalism, public relations, media production, management, and technology, and related communications industries are invited to connect with recruiters the Careers in Communication Fair.

Join Christopher LeClere, Staff Producer at NBC News NOW and UF doctoral candidate, as he shares his unconventional journey from a high school production assistant in Jax to producing for NBC News, traveling the world with U2, studying visual anthropology in England, teaching, and covering some of the world’s biggest news and cultural events.

3:30–5 p.m. – Business Readiness Workshop

Location: Weimer Hall, Room 3032

This session, led by Jen Harringer of Hearst Media, will teach students the professional skills, confidence and insights that will help them build credibility and position them to be positively remembered in a competitive workplace.

Wednesday, October 14

10–11 a.m. – Resume and Interview Workshop

Location: Weimer Hall, Atlas Lab

This session, led by Ashley Baldwin of the Walt Disney College Program, focuses on interview preparation and follow-through for both in-person, and online interview scenarios and will explain some common themes and facts about resumes, including how to best showcase your talents.
