Interested in launching a career in journalism while making an impact in communities across the country? Join Report for America for a virtual information session to learn about the organization, its mission, and upcoming employment opportunities for emerging journalists.

During this webinar, representatives from Report for America will provide an overview of the application process, discuss the positions anticipated for the 2027 cohort, and share insight into careers in local journalism. Students will also have the opportunity to connect with the recruitment team, join their recruitment list, and learn about future opportunities with the organization.

The session is open to students and alumni at all stages of their careers. While all are welcome to attend, December 2026 and Spring 2027 graduates will be eligible to apply for the upcoming cohort of positions. Applications are expected to be accepted January 19 through February 20, 2027, with employment beginning in July 2027.

For the 2027 cohort, Report for America anticipates supporting approximately 80 full-time journalism positions for reporters and photographers in local newsrooms nationwide. Their opportunities span a variety of media organizations, including digital startups, daily and weekly newspapers, radio and television stations, and visual journalism outlets.

Since 2017, Report for America has helped place hundreds of journalists in local newsrooms across the country, strengthening local reporting and helping fill critical coverage gaps.
