UFCJC sports broadcasting alum and student receive 2026 STAA All-America Awards

University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC) recent alumnus Lance Williams and Journalism junior Alexis Vivanco are the recipients of 2026 Sports Talent Agency of America (STAA) All-America Awards honoring outstanding collegiate radio and TV sports broadcasters.

Williams was recognized as a Third Team All-American and Vivanco earned an honorable mention.

Williams and Vivanco worked with the UFCJC Orange & Blue Network (OBSN). This College immersion experience is UF’s only student sports network. Students can work on broadcasts for home and away games including football, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, volleyball and softball. The games and matches are broadcast on GHQ 95.3 FM in Gainesville and UF men’s ice hockey also streams on YouTube.

Founded in 2009, the All-America Program and Jim Nantz Award are presented by STAA. A judging panel is comprised of leading members of the sportscasting industry and former Jim Nantz Award winners.
