CJC’s Globalizing American Sports course includes a trip to Berlin, Germany (Nov. 5-10) and/or Madrid, Spain (Nov. 12-17),  to create media content surrounding the NFL games played in those two European capitals.

CJC is returning to Germany for the NFL game between the Indianapolis Colts and the Atlanta Falcons… and the college will also travel to the NFL’s first-ever regular season game played in Spain!

In RTV4930 Globalizing American Sports, you will learn about how American sports instances have communicated their efforts to expand internationally. The course includes a short-term study abroad program. Students can choose between the game in Berlin or the one in Madrid, Spain, between the Miami Dolphins and the Washington Commanders.

While in Europe, you will create media content about the atmosphere surrounding this event, the local fans and the American football culture in Germany or Spain. This will allow you to interact directly with locals and/or American expats living in Spain.

The program is short, but such stories require pre-production and post-production, which we will do from Gainesville throughout the semester. So, the class will meet for two hours throughout the semester.

The course is available to any UF undergraduate student, and CJC Professional Master’s students provided they do additional graduate work.
