Save the Date: The 2025 Benefits and Wellness Fair is scheduled for Tuesday, October 14th at the Champions Club from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Save the Date: UF Benefits Open Enrollment will begin at 8 a.m. on Monday, October 13th and run through October 31, 2025.
Employee Spotlight: Meet Matthew Abramson
Each month, we will feature an employee who will share their story, role at CJC and contributions. This month’s spotlight is, Matthew Abramson
Matthew Abramson is a double-Gator graduate of the CJC, who’s worked with the University of Florida for nine years. Prior to returning to UF, he worked in the news division for Gainesville TV station WCJB TV-20, followed by the creative services unit of WGFL CBS4. He then worked with UF Information Technology’s Academic Technology department before joining the CJC in 2019. “With WUFT, one of the things I think is most important is connecting the students, who are making really great content and have great ideas, to producing work the doesn’t just live in a portfolio but that actually does what we aim for as broadcasters, which is to affect the community with content.” When he’s not at Weimer Hall, he’s distance running and playing with his three dogs.
Fun Fact:
Matthew and his partner, Sabine, have always had many pets but recently adopted two horses: a quarter horse named Skye and thoroughbred named Rose.

Safety and Security
Summer brings a lot of things including a quieter campus, shorter lines at the grocery store and hopefully some well-earned vacation time! But, as true Floridians, we also know that it brings hurricane season and, for that, we want to be prepared for whatever may develop in the tropics and impact the Sunshine State. CJC takes a great deal of pride in the fact that WUFT founded and leads the Florida Public Radio Emergency Network, a statewide hurricane and severe weather alerting system that provides coverage to every public TV and radio station in the state. WUFT, the Florida Storms and Beacon mobile apps are great resources to stay on top of the tropics. In addition, it’s always a good practice to have your “hurricane kit” available and ready to go.
