Michael Carvaines to Join UFCJC as a MPMT Lecturer in August 2025

Michael Carvaines will join the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications in August 2025 as a lecturer in the Media Production, Management and Technology department.

Carvaines is a writer, director and editor of movies, documentaries and commercials. Over the past two decades, his films and screenplays have won numerous awards at international film festivals. He has also worked on marketing and advertising campaigns for over 100 feature films for Focus Features, New Line Cinema and Dreamworks Animation.

He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Michigan, with a concentration in marketing, advertising and commercials, and earned an MFA in Film and Television Production from the Savannah College of Art and Design.

Carvaines has served an assistant professor of Media Communication at Muskingum University since 2019 and previously taught Film and Television at the Savannah College of Art and Design for two years.
