Johnathan Newman, B.S. Telecommunication 2018, was selected as one of only four University of Florida students to receive a 2018 Spring Outstanding Student Leader Award from the UF Alumni Association (UFAA).

Each semester, UFAA recognizes graduating Gators who exemplify leadership by inspiring peers and leaving a positive legacy while demonstrating respect, integrity and excellence.

While a student in the UF College of Journalism and Communications, Newman was involved with the Florida Cicerones, UF Honors Program, Freshman Leadership Council and the Equal Access Clinic. He was recognized at the UF spring commencement ceremony and sat on the platform with distinguished guests and CJC representatives.
