Jen Ford named Executive Director of Marketing and Communications at the UF College of Journalism and Communications
Jen Ford has been named Executive Director of Marketing and Communications for the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC).
Ford, who has served as interim executive director since Jan. 31, leads the College’s marketing, communications and creative operations. In this role, she oversees brand strategy, storytelling, media relations, creative services and digital engagement.
Since joining the College in 2017 to lead marketing for its online master’s program, Ford has played a central role in enhancing CJC’s visibility and reputation. She was named Director of Marketing and Communications in 2021 and has led initiatives to unify the College’s brand identity, expand its digital presence and strengthen internal communications.
Under her leadership, the College launched the CJC Brand Center, streamlined creative and marketing workflows and developed an integrated social media strategy. Her team’s efforts have driven measurable results, including a 30.5% increase in overall social media engagement and nearly 30% growth in Instagram followers over the past year.
Ford also implemented a new project management system and service request process that improved transparency and efficiency across the College. She guided the team through several major projects, including the redesign and launch the College’s website.
Before joining CJC, Ford served as senior graphic designer and social media manager for UF Online and as a multimedia developer for the UF Career Connections Center. Earlier in her career, she worked for The New York Times Syndicate, where she was lead designer and developer for several projects, including Spending Well, which earned a New York Times Publisher’s Award in 2015.
Beyond UF, she continues to make an impact in the design and communications community. She serves on the national board of AIGA, the professional association for design, where she was recently elected vice president.
She holds a master’s degree in Mass Communication with a specialization in Web Design and Online Communication from UF, a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication with a focus on visual communication from Idaho State University, and a User Experience Design Certification from the Nielsen Norman Group.
