Exploring Benefits and Wellness
2025 UF/State benefits will begin payroll deductions on Dec. 13 and Dec. 27.
2025 Open Enrollment changes to reimbursement accounts including Flexible Spending Accounts, Dependent Care FSA, Limited Purpose FSA, and Health Savings Accounts will begin on Jan. 10, 2025.
Important Note for Supervisors
Student Hiring Update:
- Federal Work Study (FWSP) Employees – Those who are graduating this semester and will no longer be enrolled must be switched to student assistant (STAS) effective Dec. 13 if they continue to work.
- Last day to work as FWSP is Dec. 12, always the Thursday before commencement.
- STAS Employees – Those who are graduating this semester and will no longer be enrolled must be switched to OPS effective Dec. 20 if they continue to work.
Professional Development Opportunities
UF’s Employee Education Program (EEP) provides a professional and personal development opportunity that enables fulltime (1.0 FTE) UF staff and faculty who have been employed at least six months, to receive:
- Tuition assistance for up to six eligible credits per semester term.
- Eligible at the Florida public university (or college if TEAMS) closest to their work location. Note: Participants must be admitted or have the expectation to be admitted to their EEP eligible institution (for the semester of attendance) as a degree-seeking or non-degree seeking student.
- Accepting applications now! Application and director approval deadline for spring 2025 EEP is 5 p.m., Dec. 20. Click here to apply: UF EEP Application
Safety and Security
Now that we are approaching the end-of-year period when the University closes for a number of days it is always a good idea to remember the following when you leave campus for the break:
- Turn your computer off (power it down). TAG always recommends routinely powering down desktop and laptop computers to allow the system to periodically reset.
- Turn all lights off to conserve electricity.
- Close external windows and lock them.
- Lock your office or workspace entrance to ensure the area is secure.
