Luis Lageyre

The University of Florida Colleg of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC) 2024 Graduate Recognition Ceremony student speaker is Luis Lageyre, a Media Production, Management, and Technology senior.

Lageyre has been an active leader throughout his four years at UF, both on campus and off.  At the university level he served as a student adviser to the Office of the Provost, a member of the Reitz Union Board of Managers and the general chair of UF’s Orange & Blue Film Festival.

At UFCJC, Lageyre has held multiple student leadership roles, including president of the Hispanic Communicators Association, vice president of external affairs for the Journalism and Communications Ambassadors and a producer at The Agency. Additionally, he was the inaugural undergraduate researcher at the College’s Atlas Lab.  He is on UFCJC’s International Committee and the Re-inventing Weimer Taskforce and is the College’s “Head Dean’s Host” under the direction of the Dean’s Office.

Outside of campus, Lageyre is a member of the Hispanic Advisory Council for the prestigious Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, an alumnus of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute and the executive director of the National Association of High School Changemakers.

He aspires to take on an executive leadership role at The Walt Disney Company, overseeing its portfolio of entertainment media, news, direct-to-consumer businesses and ad sales groups.
