Ragan Research Award

The purpose of the Ragan Research Award is to offer students an opportunity to conduct secondary research on an important topic in the PR industry. The winner will receive a $1,500 stipend to produce a small research brief (~ five pages) on a suggested topic. The winner’s research paper will be published on the IPR website, Ragan website, and PR Daily.

Application Deadline: June 1, 2022
Completed Paper Submission Deadline: August 31, 2022

AWARD CONTENT

The solo-authored report must be completed and approved by IPR and Ragan by August 31, 2022. This year’s theme will focus on the future of work.  Some topics may include, but are not limited to:
— Hybrid/remote work
— Changing nature of culture in the workplace
— Artificial intelligence and other technologies
— Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG)

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

— Strong written and spoken fluency in English
— Undergraduate (juniors/seniors) and graduate students in public relations, communications, or business who are studying in the United States
— Must have at least one methodology course in research methods (e.g., survey, content analysis, experimental design, etc.)

REQUIRED APPLICATION MATERIALS

To apply, please complete the application form (linked here) and your resume/CV to Anetra Henry, senior director of strategic initiatives, at anetra@instituteforpr.org on or before the deadline of June 1, 2022.

Applications will be reviewed by Ragan and IPR. Finalists may be interviewed, and then final selection will be made by Ragan. The research brief, if approved, will be promoted and shared by both IPR and Ragan.
