CJC Alum Serves as Producer for New Netflix Movie
Independent film producer Paul Sirmons, B.S. Telecommunication 1976, is featured in “Netflix Movie Features St. Augustine and the Wild West” posted on firstcoastnews.com on Dec. 16.
Sirmons is the producer of “Montford: The Chickasaw Rancher.” The film features a Chickasaw man who survives great hardships and tragedy to establish a vast ranching empire along the famous cattle highway of the American West. Footage of St. Augustine’s biggest landmark, the Castillo de San Marco, is included in the film.
Sirmons has served as a director, producer, line producer and production manager in both movies and TV for 35 years. He served as Florida’s State Film Commissioner in the office of Governor Jeb Bush from 2005 to 2008, where he created Florida’s film incentive program that has attracted thousands of jobs and hundreds of millions of dollars in direct spending to the state. He is also a former CJC Telecommunication Advisory Board member.
