Two CJC Alums Chosen for 2020 U.S. Olympic Softball Team

Two University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications alumni were selected for the U.S. Softball team competing at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. Aubree Munro, B.S. Telecommunication 2017, and Kelsey Stewart, B.S. Telecommunication 2016, along with Michelle Moultrie, B.A Business Administration/Sports Management 2012, are the first players from the UF softball program to earn spots on the U.S. 15-player Olympic roster.

The trio of Gators, with 19 years of combined experience with USA Softball’s Women’s National Team, relied on their training for the series of competitive selection trials to navigate their way onto the first Olympic roster since 2008.

At the Tokyo Olympic Games, Team USA will join No. 2 Japan, No. 3 Canada, No. 5 Mexico, No. 7 Australia and No. 9 Italy as the field of six countries competing for the Gold. As the host country, Japan earned an automatic berth. Team USA was selected after winning the 2018 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Softball World Championship.
