Cyndee O’Quinn Joins the CJC Media Properties Weather Department

Cyndee O’Quinn has joined the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications as its new meteorologist. O’Quinn will work with Chief Meteorologist Jeff Huffman to prepare and present daily weather forecasts on radio, television, online, mobile and social media. They, along with student meteorologists in training, will also produce content for the Florida Public Radio Emergency Network (FPREN), a collaboration of 13 public radio stations that receive information during statewide emergencies.

O’Quinn will serve as a mentor and assist student interns/forecasters on newscast production, weather updates and social media content.

Previously O’Quinn has served as the assistant senior manager and communications at the Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre in Darwin, Australia and as on-air talent and digital content manager at WCPO-TV in Cincinnati, Ohio. O’Quinn has a Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology from Florida State University.
