Lauren Griffin Quoted in Wall Street Journal Article on Information Avoidance

Lauren Griffin, University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications frank director of external research, was quoted in “When You Need to Face Facts in Your Life” published in the Wall Street Journal on Jan. 30.

The article focuses on information avoidance and how people deal with health issues, financial difficulties and other worries. According to Griffin, research shows that even thinking about the control people have in other areas of their life helps them stop avoiding unwanted information. It makes it seem less overwhelming.
