The elective courses are cool because it’s like a little snapshot of a bigger subject. I took a data elective class and we didn’t go too deep. We learned how to use an excel spreadsheet and how to pull stories and ask better questions from just  a list of numbers. I’d say definitely attend, you’ll learn a lot both in the field and how to interact and excel in media.
