Undergraduate Research Immersion
The Undergraduate Research Immersion Program (URIP) aims to provide undergraduate students at the University of Florida (UF) in-depth exposure to communication research through participation in the center’s projects.
Students in URIP will learn about UF’s Institutional Review Board (IRB), assist with the recruitment of and learn how to communicate with study participants, learn how to moderate focus groups, and subsequently with the data collection and qualitative coding.
Finally, they will be involved in the development of manuscripts resulting from the various research projects at STCC. Every fall and spring semester, three to four students are selected to participate in the program. Participating students can earn 2-3 credit hours.
