Destiny Cardentey, a Wildlife Ecology and Conservation senior, and METL student, presented research at the 2019 Science By the Shore Event at the Whitney Laboratory for Marine Bioscience in St. Augustine.

METL had the pleasure of hosting Dr. K. Kumaran, Senior Scientist at the MRC Lifecourse Epidemiology Unit at the University of Southampton, UK.

Decades after legendary civil rights leader Mahatma Gandhi inspired millions to "be the change they wish to see in the world," organizations like the Gandhi Development Trust (GDT) remain dedicated to spreading his values of peace and justice. In commemoration of Gandhi's legacy, the GDT invited Dr. Sri Kalyanaraman to deliver the keynote address at their signature annual event: the 71st Anniversary of the Assassination of Mahatma Gandhi.

After a Spring semester spent developing and testing virtual reality (VR) simulations in the METL, three UF students carry the momentum over into summer internships in the public and private sector.

The $200k grant will fund research into how immersive technologies, such as virtual reality (VR), can be used to assist veterans with movement disabilities and disorders.

Four research papers presenting results from research studies conducted at METL were accepted for presentation at the International Communication Association's annual conference in Prague in March 2018.

A research paper presenting results from two research studies conducted at METL that studied the effects of cuteness and message format on attitudes towards climate change was accepted for presentation at the American Academy of Advertising's annual conference in New York in March 2018. Graduate student Daniel Pimentel, postdoctoral associate Shiva Halan and director & professor Sri Kalyanaraman were authors on the accepted paper.
