Journalism 1984<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Back when I started learning at UF, the College of Journalism was in the stadium. Eventually,\u00a0 Weimer Hall was built. One of the many classes I took was named &#8220;Applied Journalism&#8221; or something like that. Back then, the <em>Gainesville Sun<\/em> gave us students a page. (I also freelanced for the <em>Independent Florida Alligator<\/em> the <em>High Springs Herald<\/em>, and other publications).<\/p>\n<p>One story I really enjoyed seeing published in the Gainesville daily newspaper was my interview of Dean Emeritus Rae O. Weimer in regard to the Hall being named in his honor. If the <em>Gainesville Sun<\/em> has an archive, then that story still exists somewhere. I am certain it was well written.
