Emerging- & Young-Adult Daughter Caregivers of Mothers with Breast Cancer: Cultivating Healthy Communication Practice at Home and in the Clinic

Funded by the UF Health Cancer Center and University of Florida (PI: Fisher)

Co-PI: Dr. Carma Bylund

UF Graduate Research Assistants: Michaela Devyn Mullis, Amanda Kastrinos

In collaboration with Dr. Carma Bylund, we are actively seeking funding to further support research centered on building an online intervention tailored for young-adult daughter caregivers (YACDs) of mothers diagnosed with breast cancer. The intervention uses both Fisher’s mother-daughter breast cancer research program (www.motherdaughterbreastcancer.com) focused on enhancing social support and openness communication skills between mothers and daughters and Bylund’s internationally renowned provider-patient communication skills program.
