Chris Doering

Chris joined ESPN in 2015 as a studio analyst. Previously he was a college football analyst for the SEC Network and a commentator for NBC Sports Radio, 120 Sports and host of sports radio talk shows in Gainesville and Ocala, Fla.

Doering is a Gainesville native who began his football career as a walk on player at the University of Florida in 1991. He became a top performing wide receiver setting a single-season SEC record completing 17 touchdown catches in 1995, He still holds the title of the most touchdown catches (31) in Florida and SEC history.  Doering was a second-team All American and a first-team All-SEC choice in 1995 and helped lead the Florida Gators to SEC Championships in 1993, 1994 and 1995. At graduation he received the Doug Belden award which is given to the most outstanding male student athlete scholar.

Doering began his NFL career in 1996 when he was picked in the sixth round by the Jacksonville Jaguars. After an Achilles injury with the Denver Broncos, Doering was reunited with his college coach Steve Spurrier in 1993 and joined the Washington Redskins. Doering spent a total of ten seasons in the NFL completing his professional career with 42 receptions for 476 yards and three touchdowns.
