Ryan Hunt

Ryan Hunt is the co-Editor-in-Chief of Sports Illustrated, a position he has held since October 2019. Ryan manages SI’s editorial staff, leading a team of experienced reporters and editors and overseeing the digital strategy — from daily content planning to major-event coverage to franchise development.

With more than two decades of digital experience at SI, Hunt has held many roles with the iconic sports media brand since originally starting as an Associate Producer at CNNSI.com in Atlanta in 1998, including Homepage Editor, News Director and Executive Editor.

He has spent his career developing unique and engaging content for multiple platforms. Hunt won a Sports Emmy in 2017 for Outstanding Digital Innovation for his involvement on the SI/Life VR ‘Capturing Everest’ project, the first ever bottom-to-top climb of Mount Everest captured in virtual reality. Under his leadership, SI also has launched multiple digital franchises, including the ‘Daily Cover,’ SI.com’s signature premium piece.

Ryan graduated with a degree in journalism from UF, where he was also the Sports Editor of The Independent Florida Alligator. He currently lives in New Jersey with his wife and daughter.
