Internal Communications Coordinator

The Internal Communications Coordinator reports directly to the Corporate Communications Executive Director. This person will be responsible for developing and implementing internal communications strategy, coordinating other members of the Public Relations, Integrated Communications and Human Resources teams to ensure regular, timely and relevant flow of information throughout the organization, to support improved employee engagement. This is a full-time position located at Baptist Jacksonville (Downtown).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage delivery of a comprehensive and coordinated internal communication strategy that supports Baptist Health’s goals and program initiatives.
  • Continuous improvement of core internal communication channels and establishment of new channels using the full range of tools including but not limited to newsletters, events, intranet, cascade briefing etc.
  • Development of a network of internal communication champions within each Baptist Health hospital to stimulate content and provide feedback for internal communication activity
  • Work closely with the Public Relations team and other internal departments to develop plans to communicate specific initiatives within a structured, crisp and coherent framework
  • Work closely with the Intranet Team to develop content and write compelling, brand journalism team member stories as needed
  • Be responsible for all copy writing and editing activities relating to internal communication
  • Support external communications as needed
  • Work with Baptist Health Social Media team to develop and support internal social/networking events
  • Contributing writer for JUICE – Baptist Health digital news hub
  • Member of the on-call schedule for media
  • Assist Public Relations team with media as needed
  • Perform any other duties within the corporate communications function as required

Minimum experience/qualifications:

  • Prefer three to five years of experience writing and editing across print and digital platforms
  • Excellent writing, grammar and editing skills; Mastery of Associated Press style a must
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PPT) and Google Sheets
  • Strong written, verbal and organizational skills
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Can-do attitude with strong attention to detail and deadlines
  • Dependability, professionalism and flexibility
  • Able to juggle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Social Media experience
