Brand & Marketing Intern For Local Fashion Brand

Everyday in Retrograde, a fashion-based organization in Gainesville, FL, is seeking enthusiastic and driven interns who desire experience in assisting with the growth, awareness, web-presence, and brand identity of a women-centric business in a growing, evolving business in fashion and art. Efficient interns can work remotely, but some physical attendnce is preferred. We sell on-trend clothing, vintage and refashioned apparel, jewelry and much more focusng on sustainable fashion. We sell on multiple platforms online and have collaborated with a local brick and mortar to offer a curated section in an inclusive, communal environment. We also organize and regularly participate in local pop up events, where we set up shop, interact with our customers, recruit vendors, create promotional materials, and engage our audience through social media and email marketing, as well as any other relevant tasks. 

 

Job responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

 

-Maintainting a relevant and current website using the godaddy platform

 

-Posting, and/or scheduling posts and stories on social media accounts

 

-Assistance in event planning and execution

 

-Assisting during photoshoots and styling sessions with clients

 

-Creating visual and written content for website, social media accounts and/or blog

 

-Following up on styling client leads, maintaining contact with previous clients while encouraging engagement and reviews with incentives

 

-Creating copy and/or researching efficacy of blog topics

 

-Assistance in creating email marketing campaigns and regular interaction with target market

 

-Research on fashion trends and types of items with highest ROI that align with the brand on sites like eBay, Etsy, Instagram and Depop

 

Other tasks may occasionally include:

 

-Photographing flatlays or models and writing accurate descriptions of vintage, antique and archival clothing, decor, furniture while using the brand voice in content and terminology

 

-Maintaining correct pricing and staging in a collective brick and mortar store as well as assistance in spreading awareness about this new location

 

 

 

The expectations of this positions are realistic, yet ever-evolving with the expansion of our services. If you have a passion for fashion, vintage, staging and styling, event promotion, organization and participation, interacting clients and vendors, you are highly encouraged to apply!

 

This position is best suited for an outgoing, self-starter and quick learner who is flexible and excited at the prospect of gaining valuable experience in a variety of roles in a growing sales and service based business while helping maintain and expand the brand identity. There is much room for growth in this position, as well as the possibility for a regular paid position with raises given based on performance.

The hours for this internship are fairly flexible and we are willing to work with students’ schedules. An expectation of hours would be around 5-20 hours per week at 1-3 days per week.

Minimum experience/qualifications:

An interest in fashion, photography, styling, and staging.

Efficient writing skills

Comfortability interacting with the public

Careful attention to detail and visual appeal

Some experience creating promotional designs, such as fliers and visual announcements. We mostly use Over as a design app, but some proficiency in any effective design tools is adequate. (i.e., Canva, Over, Adobe Spark, Photoshop, etc.)

Preferred but not necessary:

Some experience listing and selling items on one or more sites like eBay, Poshmark, Depop, Mercari, etc

Desired but not expected:

Experience crafting email campaigns

Creating well-written and interesting content for blogs

Some knowledge of web design (coding not necessary)
